Carving our Class Pumpkin

We ended the month of October with carving our class pumpkin. It turns out that almost half the class had never carved a pumpkin before so it was quite a treat. We turned our carving into a math lesson by talking about estimating how many seeds were in the pumpkin . The best part was watching the children's reactions when they stuck their hands in the slimey pumpkin guts. It was so cute!

Look who dropped in

Last week we were lucky to be visited by a 5th grade classroom and their baby chicks.  Each year 5th graders raise chicks.  They incubate the eggs and everything.  Friday they came to not only show is the chicks but also teach us how they grow and change.  Ask your child to tell you something they learned about the chicks.
